Clean and minimal, this spring summer feels modernised and effortless complemented by hints of military wear.
Set against a clean stone backdrop EJDER SS 15 lookbookis dominated by monochromatic garments alongside army surplus inspired pieces.
A style originating from 1990s designers such as Raf Simons, Yohji Yamamoto and Maharishi, utilitarian and outdoor-ready styles have taken shape throughout the past few seasons, offering a new direction in urban wear.
Exploring this idea for 2015, brands such as Rocked Garage, ASSK, D.Gnak and Nid De Guepes have restored streetwear basics, adding unexpected components into their collections.
Simple silhouettes are juxtaposed against inventive elements such as frayed denim and modern marble print, presenting a contemporary take on street wear.
Bomber jackets especially were reinvented with the addition of Carabiner clips attached to suspended webbing covering ASSK’s pieces along with functional zippers tracing sleeves and parting centre backs revealing contrasting orange lining of khaki jackets from Rocked Garage whilst laces weave amongst small eyelets, merging the elbow seam of a classic fishtail parkas by Nid de Guepes.
